Hand control (mechanical)

This adaptation offers drivers with a functional restriction on one or both legs the possibility to control the brake and accelerator easy and comfortably with their hands.

Working

The hand control is operated by two separate levers. The brake lever is connected to the brake pedal with a push rod. By pushing this lever towards the dashboard, the brake pedal will be operated.

The accelerator lever is positioned behind the steering wheel and connected to the accelerator pedal by a gas cable. Operation of the accelerator takes place by pulling the lever towards the steering wheel.

Safety

As a result of the separated levers, it is impossible to operate the accelerator and brakes at the same time. To brake, the accelerator must be released and to accelerate, the brake lever must be released. The accelerator lever is developed in a way, that allows the driver to keep both hands on the steering wheel during driving.

The original brake pedal as well as the original accelerator pedal are made foldable to ensure that it is impossible to unintentionally touch the pedals with the feet.

Comfort

The brake lever is equipped with an ergonomic handle, called the Carpa grip. The Carpa grip is designed so that it fits exactly into the palm of the hand, because of this, the brake lever can be operated easily and comfortably.
The design of the accelerator lever is symmetrical with the steering wheel and is equipped with a synthetic cover, to ensure that operating the accelerator feels natural and comfortable.

As a result of the foldable pedals more foot and leg space is created. It is easy to place the pedals back in their original position, so that other drivers can use the pedals in the normal way.

Installation

Bever Car Products offers a wide range of car specific hand controls. The hand control includes a concise installation manual and assembly parts, with the required parts to make the pedals foldable. This ensures that a conversion company can carry out this adaptation easily. The hand controls are black powder coated, integrating it fully into the vehicle interior.
